The traditional print processes of Flexographic and Rotogravure now have a fresh and robust challenger with the introduction of Digital printing. Digital printing is now shaking up the entire print process and with the move to Digital in everyday life it is no wonder that the flexible packaging industry is adapting to this shift in consumer habits also. The sheer speed and flexibility of Digital print has ensured it has quickly become a necessary and fundamental print option for customers.

We wanted to outline the benefits of this fresh and exciting approach to ensure maximum impact for you and your brands.

Market Testing with Multiple Design Concepts and Varieties: Multiple designs can be printed together in much smaller batches without slowing down production time thus saving on large set up costs on plates.

Meeting Tight Product Launch Deadlines for Retailers: Digital lead times are incredibly quick and products can be on the shelf weeks sooner for immediate sales!

Amending a Current Design / Product on Shelf: This is very convenient with Digital. There are no printing plates required for Digital print runs meaning amends can be made immediately without slowing down the process which would cost both time and money.

Smaller Stock holding: We know certain products have a limited market or life span. With Digital you can obtain maximum benefit for such small running lines, smaller print runs means less stock holding and less stock becoming obsolete and scrapped.

Product Pitches / Promotional Activity to Retailers & Potential Customers: Digital printing and Mock-ups are the perfect accompaniment for your sales & marketing activity. Our Mock-ups are a great tool to present during pitches with retailers and in turn can be used for internal focus groups.

Personalisation, Customisation & Uniqueness: Digital printing offers flexibility to connect directly to the consumer through customisation of packs for events, competitions or to gain seasonal sales. A further step is to connect to customers individually via a personal message or photograph. Digital print allows you the opportunity to print endless unique designs if you require.

Our Team at Active Packaging are proud to announce that we had a successful first audit and now become one of the first BRC accredited agents and brokers in N.Ireland.

This Global Standard for Agents and Brokers is designed to promote best practice on product safety, quality and the operational criteria required to fulfil obligations with regard to legal compliance and consumer protection.

With the introduction of the standard last year, Active Packaging knew that this was something we wanted to achieve.

We understand the importance of being ahead of the game when it comes to quality procedures and customer confidence.

Gaining this BRC accreditation not only shows the hard work and commitment of our team, but also shows our customers that they are working with an independently accredited company.

Our customers can be assured, that when they are being audited against the new Issue 7 of BRC for Food Manufacturing, the new agents and broker’s clause is satisfied for Active Packaging products.

We are continuously developing our internal quality system and existing procedures and BRC has been a great tool for Active Packaging to help us formalise and strengthen these existing procedures.

All the products we source are from suppliers who can demonstrate the high standards we demand for our customers and BRC has helped us to further develop our strict supplier approval process.

Customers and suppliers, new and existing, can be assured that when they are dealing with Active Packaging they are dealing with a professional company with the highest standards and now you don’t just have to take our word for it.

Requests from customers in recent times have driven us to develop a range of products that allow the consumer to cook their food in packaging that can withstand the heat of an oven. We have developed film for automated filling machines, vertical filling, horizontal flow wrap machines and lidding film for products packed in trays, all of which are suitable for use in the oven.

We also have a pre-formed bag range for hand packing products into. The size can be tailored to our customer’s requirements.

Our products are suitable for cooking in conventional ovens up to 200°C. The packaging allows the consumer to speed up the cooking time and due to the steam generated within the pack, the nutrients and goodness of the food is retained. The packaging is suited to cooking veg, fish, poultry and meats among others.
