Aptar announces the ISCC Plus certifications of EMEA manufacturing sites

Aptar is pleased to announce the ISCC Plus certification (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) of 10 of our European manufacturing sites, including all of our manufacturing sites in Spain and Italy, with more certifications to come in 2022.

The ISCC Plus mass balance certification enables the use by allocation of recycled mixed plastics or bio-based renewable feedstocks. With this certification, the entire materials supply chain is traceable. Allowing our clients to access recycled content polyolefin for beauty, home, food, beverage and pharma packaging.

ISCC is a leading certification system that ensures traceability, feedstock identity and can help to validate sustainability claims around recycled content. With a world-leading verification process along the entire supply chain, ISCC Plus certified PCR takes a ‘mass balance approach’ to trace the flow of materials that are mixed during production. This constant monitoring and counting approach makes it possible to trace the level and characteristics of circular and/or sustainable content in the final product.

At Aptar, the ISCC Plus certifications are in addition to the site-level achievements of the ISO 14001 (environmental), ISO 50001 (energy) and internal Landfill Free certifications.
