Going Green: Asquan's Parklane Collection Enhances Sustainability

  • Asquan Group

Sustainability is the name of the game, and Asquan's gorgeous Parklane Collection is now styrene-free! These beautiful compacts feature tactile non-magnetic snap closures and are optionally rechargeable as well.

Styrene itself is considered a potential human carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). When styrene-containing packaging is incinerated or disposed of improperly, it can release harmful chemicals and fumes into the air, posing risks to human health and the environment. Moreover, while styrene-based packaging materials are technically recyclable, the process can be economically and logistically challenging due to contamination issues and the lack of infrastructure for efficient recycling. As a result, much of the styrene packaging ends up in landfills or as litter.

Removing styrene from Asquan's powder compacts greatly enhances their chances of being recycled, and fewer damaging toxins are released into the atmosphere. But why recycle when you can reuse? The rechargeable option further reduces the product's carbon footprint by allowing consumers to replace the powder and keep the packaging, thereby reducing waste from the root.
