Rexam receives silver at 2014 ABRE Brazilian Packaging Awards

Rexam, the leading beverage can and end manufacturer in South America, was awarded the silver trophy for the Alcoholic Beverage Packaging category of the 2014 ABRE Brazilian Packaging Awards.

The beverage can maker beat competition with the FUSION aluminium bottle for Smirnoff Ice. The 11oz bottle is unique in the Ready to Drink (RTD) category in the country; it is the lightest bottle in the South American market and showcases Rexam's HD printing which allows the print of highly detailed images on the label.

In addition to this achievement, the company was also recognized alongside its customers in the following categories: Marketing - Communications Strategy, with Coca-Cola Zero Rock in Rio (gold trophy) and Graphic Design for Alcoholic Beverages, with Devassa Rio Eu Te Amo (silver trophy).

The Awards were sponsored by ABRE - Brazilian Packaging Association. Evaluation of submitted award applications is based on a number of items including: quality, functionality, ergonomics, technologies applied, benefits offered to consumers and process gains.
