    As one of the leading global beverage can makers, Rexam is committed to sustainability and providing its customers with the most environmentally-friendly beverage package.

    The company was recently awarded for its efforts to raise awareness and involvement in aluminum can recycling in its local communities. The Illinois Recycling Association (IRA) has named Rexam as the 2014 Excellence in Recycling Award winner in the Outstanding Business Recycling Program category. This award recognizes a business for success in implementing recycling activities that have resulted in significant reductions to its waste stream. 

    Rexam continuously participates in many local and national activities to promote recycling and raise money for local charities. This includes the Great American Can Roundup Industry Challenge, sponsored by the Can Manufacturers Institute (CMI). In this annual industry-wide competition, companies compete to recycle the most aluminum cans and donate the proceeds to charity. Rexam has taken the top spot in this contest for the past seven years in a row. 

    Each year, the Illinois Recycling Association recognizes outstanding achievements in sustainable resource management, focusing on waste reduction, reuse and recycling. The Excellence in Recycling Awards are presented at the organization’s annual conference. 

    "Rexam BCNA's dedication to recycling awareness and education is exemplary," said Marta Keane, president, Illinois Recycling Association. "Their efforts, that inspire tremendous participation, need to be recognized as an example to other businesses. If more organizations adapted some of their creative approaches, we would increase recycling throughout Illinois."

    Meadowlark Brewing moves into cans

    Galena Brewing Company offers three beers in Rexam cans

    Just in time for the prime summer months, Galena Brewing Company has expanded its packaging lineup to include three beers in Rexam 16oz cans. After being retailed exclusively in glass bottles, Galena Brewing Co. chose to add cans because of the many inherent benefits they deliver. Aluminum cans are durable and portable, often permitted at parks, lakes and other outdoor locations where glass is not. They block out all light and oxygen helping to preserve the beer's integrity longer.

    Noah's Spring Water brings re-sealable aluminum package to consumers with Rexam's 24oz Cap Can

    Noah's Spring Water has added the Rexam 24 oz Cap Can with closure technology from Dayton Systems Group (DSG) to its packaging mix, becoming the only bottled water available in this innovative, re-sealable aluminum container. Noah's Spring Water comes from Adobe Springs in California, has a natural 8.4pH quality and contains 110 mg. of magnesium per liter, nearly 20 times the amount in other bottled spring waters.

    Bon Affair expands into single-serve with Rexam's Fusion aluminum bottle

    Bon Affair has now expanded into the single-serve market, launching its Sauvignon Blanc Wine Spritzer in Rexam's 11.2 oz. Fusion aluminum bottle. It is one of the first companies in the US to utilize Rexam's Fusion aluminum bottle which mixes the premium look and feel of a bottle with the functionality and inherent benefits of a can. In addition to providing portability, this package is shatterproof and lightweight to help reduce shipping costs.

    612Brew targets growth with addition of Rexam cans

    Looking to expand its reach and bring its beers to even more customers, 612Brew has launched three of its distinctive craft brews - SIX, Unrated Rye IPA and Gateway Park Lager - in Rexam 12 oz cans. 612Brew's cans were designed by Adam Turman, a well-known muralist and illustrator in Minnesota's Twin Cities area. They feature bold, colorful graphics that highlight 612, the area code for Minneapolis. Adam also created a mural that adorns a wall at the brewery.

    Finch's Beer Co. goes local with move to Rexam cans

    Finch's Beer Co. is going local. The Chicago-based craft brewer has teamed up with Rexam, a leading global beverage can maker with North American headquarters in Chicago, choosing the company's 16 oz. cans as the ideal packaging choice for its line-up of beers. Finch's has already launched Secret Stache Stout, Hardcore Chimera, Finch's Pale Ale and Nuclear Winter in Rexam cans with Sobek & Set, Fascist Pig and Threadless coming soon, followed by Wet Hot American Wheat this summer.

    Tin Man Brewing Co. offers four of its core beers in Rexam cans

    Identifying it as the ideal craft beer package, Tin Man Brewing Co. is offering four of its core beers in Rexam 16 oz. cans.
