Autumn has arrived. The days are getting shorter, trees are dropping their leaves and it is getting colder outside. We are looking for warmth and affection during this time of the year. It is a perfect moment to share a box of delicious chocolates with friends and family, because "sharing is caring".
Chocolat Essentiel focuses on the health of human and sustainability. Each praline is handmade in the family-run atelier, entirely powered by an on-site watermill. There are eight collections, each with their specific effect. The chocolates are packed in a neutral box. For each collection there is a printed sleeve to personalize the box. In that way the box can be used for all collections. The entire packaging is made with ecologic paper based on waste of cacao shells.
Do you need inspiration for the development of your packaging?
The “E” in STERK (strong) stands for Expertise.
With expertise we mean the knowledge and skills of a person. An expert must have mastered something very well before it can be seen as expertise. Every employee at BDMO is an expert or wants to become an expert in his profession. They are supported with the necessary training. Only if everyone executes his job well, the production process goes as it should. In this way we can guarantee our customers constant top quality.
Our Research & Development department is constantly looking for new packaging. Thanks to their extensive experience and knowledge, they always provide surprising and innovative proposals. The idea came to find an alternative for a box with magnetic closure. Magnets are expensive to purchase and in handling, which quickly translates this into the sales price. We have developed a lock in plastic that ensures the box is resealable.
"The possibilities in cardboard are limited. This is also due to the specifications of the machines which we always have to take into account. This often makes it challenging to find a solution for packaging a product. It is important that the customer provides us with the right content so that we can give him advice on the basis of handmade samples. When making the lock, the biggest challenge was to find a uniform closure that serves the different cardboard thicknesses."
