Based in The Netherlands, Jan-Willem previously worked in sales for Beatson Clark’s sister company Pont Europe. In his new role he will be managing all Beatson Clark’s export accounts as well as taking a lead on winning new business overseas.

Beatson Clark has a growing portfolio of customers in the brewing sector and Jan-Willem will be focusing on the booming craft beer market both in Europe and worldwide.

“Over the years I’ve developed a strong relationship with everyone at Beatson Clark while acquiring and managing important European accounts for their glass packaging products,” said Jan-Willem.

”My existing relationship with colleagues in sales, design and quality made moving to Beatson Clark an obvious choice when the opportunity occurred, but I also wanted to move because Beatson Clark offers special glass packaging solutions, exciting new products and added value for its customers.”

Jan-Willem says he is looking forward to focusing on his passion: glass packaging.

“At Beatson Clark I can completely focus on glass packaging, and my horizons will be much wider as I will be handling all the company’s export business worldwide.”

Lynn Sidebottom, Sales and Marketing Director at Beatson Clark, said: “The appointment of Jan-Willem to this important role is fantastic news for Beatson Clark.

“He has lots of experience with our team, our products and our facilities and has been involved in packaging sales in Europe for 15 years, so he really is the perfect fit for this job.

“This at a very busy time for export; we are seeing more and more brands, particularly breweries, looking for smaller volumes of premium bespoke glass packaging. Jan-Willem will be pursuing these opportunities as well as looking after our existing export customer base and attending major trade shows that we are exhibiting at such as BrewExpo in the United States and BrauBeviale in Germany.”

Beatson Clark goes back in time with Trappist beer bottles

Glass manufacturer Beatson Clark has a heritage dating back centuries, so it’s appropriate that the company has been chosen to supply bottles to the first monastery to brew beer in the UK since the days of Henry VIII. Monks at Mount Saint Bernard Abbey near Coalville in Leicestershire have become the first in the UK to brew an officially recognised Trappist beer – and their brewery is one of just 12 in the world to earn the name ‘Trappist’.
