Perfect folding properties with a wax-free alternative?

  • Constantia Flexibles

Laminates with wax have many advantages, above all their unique deadfold properties. The technicians at Constantia have now succeeded in creating a waxfree laminate with the same properties. Laminating waxes, which are analytically difficult to distinguish from mineral oils, often lead to false positive results during investigations. CONSTANTIA Waxfree TopFold avoids this problem. The perfect folding properties of the laminate can be matched to the respective requirements through the mixing ratio of the adhesives.

This allows the material both to adapt perfectly to the product in question and to look appropriately attractive. Roman König, Head of Product Management Confectionery & Processed Food, had a lead role in adding the material to the product portfolio and says, “With CONSTANTIA Waxfree TopFold, we have fulfilled a longstanding wish of our customers. The development process was not entirely straightforward, but we have succeeded in developing a waxfree laminate that satisfies the look-and-feel requirements placed on the packaging used for branded products. We are particularly pleased that the jury of the Constantia Global Award selected “CONSTANTIA Waxfree TopFold” as one of the winners.”
