From food to cosmetics: the Chilean country pavilion brings to Cosmoprof the force of nature

Thanks to the work of ProChile, a leading public organization that promotes the country’s local businesses abroad, Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna will present the Chilean country pavilion in hall 21, which historically has been dedicated to the world of nature.

ProChile’s internationalization strategy is based on looking to the new trends in the world and the ever-changing needs of consumers. For 2019, Chilean companies are most certainly focusing on natural cosmetics after witnessing new patterns in consumer behavior. Consumers are more interested in naturalorganic products and concepts having to do with eco-sustainability.

What’s more, it is interesting to see how the beauty industry and food industry are strongly linked. National research carried about by GlobalData indicated that 56% of consumers interviewed are interested in cosmetic products with natural ingredients because "if they can be eaten, they can also be applied to the skin”. 

This is important data for this country because the cosmetics industry sources its ingredients from the abundance of what is offered locally: native plants and flowers, kilometers of coastlines that offer seaweed with many active ingredients and an elevated presence of copper. Chile’s innovations in cosmetics are based on ecological ingredients that are free from chemicals and that respect the environment.

This trend is being further established thanks to independent SMEs that have embraced the concept of natural cosmetics. It is a winning proposition that is offering up interesting results in terms of exports, especially when it comes to Asia and Europe.

ProChile has chosen to bring 7 companies to Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna. These are companies with products free from artificial preservatives, chemical components, synthetic fragrances, additives or any type of toxic or potentially harmful substance, and with no animal testing.

In addition to hosting events in Las Vegas (Cosmoprof North America), Hong Kong (Cosmoprof Asia) and, from September 2018, Mumbai (Cosmoprof India), the brand has sales international agents in Colombia, in Belleza y Salud, and in b2b beauty trade shows in South East Asia, to increase the commercial exchange between local companies and international buyers and distributors.

The men’s cosmetics market is at a very important juncture. An increasingly important player worldwide for many years, after a period of slow but steady expansion it is currently expected to grow faster than any other cosmetics sector between now and 2020. New look for Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2019!

After the positive feedback of last year, Cosmoprof 2019 is confirming the different opening dates, according to each professional target. From Thursday 14 to Sunday 17 March 2019, Cosmopack and Cosmo|Perfumery & Cosmetics will open, facilitating business meetings between suppliers and manufacturers on the one side, and companies of finished products, buyers and retailers on the other, with a focus on Perfumery & Cosmetics, Green & Organic and Cosmoprime, the area dedicated to haute gamme perfumery.
