The design evokes the original style of other, traditional versions of the Gillette product line, comprising the actuator and a protective cap.
The security lock has been implemented incorporating a sliding mechanism, positioned in the action zone, which can be moved between a LOCKED or UNLOCKED position. In the open (UNLOCKED) position, the locking mechanism can be used as a finger-depressed actuator, offering an ergonomic grip and an intuitive spray dispenser to the consumer.
The new spray cap has been made for use with both antiperspirant products, where a standard AP insert is used, and Deo Spray products, which make use of a micromist insert (MBU).
The new cap is suitable for use with Ø 49mm necked-in, tin plate cans. It also incorporates a guarantee seal, which prevents accidental activation prior to sale.
The locking mechanism ensures that the product will not leak or inadvertently spray while being transported (back and forth from the gym, for example) or that very small children will not be able to use the product and accidentally cause themselves injury, though the lock mechanism is not considered an official child-proof lock.
