Creating extra space to convey more information on your packaging is never an easy task. The logistical problem that many manufacturers have is that they do not have an infinite amount of space on the product itself to work with.
Therefore, the key to successful communication with your customers is not to try and increase the amount of space available on a product, but to make better use of the available space. But how do you do that? We list some suggestions below.
Invest in better labelling solutions
There are many innovative and creative ways to create more space on the label. For example, Fix-a-Form®, the multi-page label comes in a range of different folding patterns and allows you to fit more information on a relatively small space.
It comes in different designs to suit a wide variety of products and gives you more space to inform consumers of the main benefits and key information associated with your product.
QR codes
Another way of conveying extra information is to use QR codes. This machine-readable code consists of an array of black and white squares and is typically used for storing URLs or other information for reading by the camera on a smartphone. It can link consumers directly to contact details and additional information that you are unable to display on your product. The only downside of this is that the information is not immediately visible until it is scanned by a consumer.
Booklets/pamphlets
Some manufacturers store extra information on booklets or leaflets that are inserted within the product packaging. These often do not take up too much extra space and allows customers to get a better idea of how the product works. The problem with this is it involves using more paper and is often tucked away inside the product where it is not immediately accessible by the consumer.
