In a single day, DS Smith’s new state-of-the art box manufacturing plant is able to produce more than 17 million square feet of lightweight recyclable packaging. The opening of the corrugated plant heralds the company’s latest technology, keeping pace with increasing demands by consumers and retailers for fully recyclable boxes and “fit-to-product” packaging.
DS Smith Plastics, Extruded Products France announced the launch of AkyPure™ − a new line of extruded polypropylene packaging for the pharmaceutical industry.
AkyPure has been developed in collaboration with key players in the industry. The new product line consists of hygienic, fiber-free and moist-resistant packaging solutions manufactured in compliance with International Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) that ensures products are consistently produced and controlled according to established quality standards.

DS Smith's factory in Portugal, specialised in displays for point of sales, has received a PAPIES 2019 award. The award-winning equipment, in the category of displays for point of sales, was a cardboard island, consisting of a modular structure, integrating real ropes as a true stand- out feature. This eye catching and attractive solution, structurally developed for Unilever FIMA, provided great prominence to the Tresemmé brand.

DS Smith awarded first PS9000 Pharmaceutical accreditation
DS Smith Neath, located in South Wales, UK, has been awarded the PS 9000 pharmaceutical accreditation. The accreditation validates the Neath site to produce printed cartons for the pharmaceutical sector. The implementation of this accreditation will now enable the site to offer its extensive range of packaging solutions to the pharmaceutical sector.
