Recycling the unrecyclable: Introducing Juno Technology from Georgia-Pacific

  • Georgia-Pacific

The newest innovation in recycling allows us to reclaim the unrecyclable. Juno® Technology from Georgia-Pacific allows us to divert millions of tons of waste from landfills to help save our planet.

Every year approximately 170 million tons of waste from across America is deposited into landfills or incinerated. Much of it is paper and other materials considered unrecyclable as a result of plastic coatings, food contamination, or being mixed with other materials. As a leader in recycling paper and paper-based packaging, Georgia-Pacific believes a significant portion of this waste can be processed for reuse and set out to find a solution.

Our pioneering Juno technology is an innovative process that can help recover more fiber and reduce what is being landfilled in a more sustainable way. Juno enables us to collect waste from places like large office buildings, airports, amusement parks, and quick-service restaurants that previously went into landfills, and diverts up to 90% of the waste for beneficial uses.

Put simply, Juno allows Georgia-Pacific to turn the unrecyclable into the reclaimed.
