This morning, Chairman Emilio Amati and the top management of Gruppo ASA welcomed Her Excellency the British Ambassador to Italy and San Marino, Ms. Jill Morris.  Just a few days before, at the 10^th edition of the UK-Italy Business Awards in Milan, Ambassador Morris had awarded Amati a prestigious prize for the development achieved by his company in the UK through the takeover of Central Tin Containers Ltd based in Liverpool.

The hosts introduced the company structure to the Ambassador, who was told that Gruppo ASA is the first group in Italy and among the first ones in Europe for the production of General Line metal packaging. In the recent past, Gruppo ASA experienced 30% growth of its turnover and in 2016, it met the target of 105 million euros. Ambassador Morris was shown the successful hub & spoke business model of the Group, whose headquarters and general management are based in The Republic of San Marino, as well as the entire metal packaging production cycle, although each product is finally shaped near clients’ companies. Finally, the Ambassador was taken to visit the company plant. 

Her Excellency was impressed and made very positive remarks on Gruppo ASA. She expressed her complete support and that of the Department for International Trade of the British Consulate General in Milan represented by Mr. Alessandro Ciuro, who came with the Ambassador. 

‘I am honoured of Ambassador Morris’s visit: just a few days after our first meeting in Milan, Her Excellency accepted my invitation to personally come to see our company’, said  Chairman Amati. ‘The amiable atmosphere of the visit proves the existence of true spirit of cooperation. Moreover, the Ambassador explained the opportunities and tools that the British Government will make available to our Group to support and help it penetrate the English market’.
