LINPAC heads stateside to showcase new thin films

    • Klöckner Pentaplast

Meat and poultry packers and processors will have the chance to learn more about the innovative range of films developed for the sector by global fresh food packaging manufacturer, LINPAC, at this month’s International Production & Processing Exhibition (IPPE).

It will be the first time LINPAC has attended the show, which is being held in Atlanta, USA, January 26-28, and is an ideal opportunity to showcase the benefits of the technically-advanced LINtop® films range to visitors.

LINPAC will be in Hall B at stand 8848 and will also have representatives on the MULTIVAC booth in Hall B at stand 7637 where demonstrations will take place using the films.

LINtop films offer packers complete flexibility and have been innovatively designed to be thinner than standard laminated films to deliver cost effective pack solutions with strong sustainability credentials.

The company will be launching LINtop Star PE CXO, a high barrier, medium shrink film for outside cut tray sealers and case ready (MAP) formats requiring a PE sealant layer, as well as LINtop PE HB OSL, a low shrink barrier film, offering a thin, robust solution for outside and inside cut tray sealers and thermoforming lines.

Both films include anti-fog properties with excellent seal-through contamination performance and have maximum versatility being suitable for both vertical and horizontal pack display. Importantly both films have been developed with a co-extruded structure, making them between 20 and 30 per cent thinner than equivalent laminated films, resulting in a significantly lower pack carbon footprint.

Daniel Strickland, market development manager, barrier films, at LINPAC, said: “LINPAC has invested heavily in producing a range of films which respond to the changing needs of our customers.  The LINtop films range addresses the needs of processors and packers in terms of cost and performance. With LINtop, they have received the environmental benefits of a lighter film without compromising product functionality and performance.

“At IPPE we hope to demonstrate to the American packaging industry our capabilities to develop and produce innovative packaging solutions for the 21st century customer.”
