Luxe Pack Monaco: A record-breaking 28th edition!

The world's premier packaging creativity event has closed its doors on what was an exceptional edition, with records broken in terms of the number of exhibitors, the number of visitors, the number of launches and the international markets represented.

Once again, brands from around the world flocked to the show, ever keen to meet packaging specialists offering differentiating and innovative solutions.

Luxe Pack attracted 8651 visitors - up 2% on last year - and with the opening of new exhibition spaces, 450 exhibitors - including 80 new exhibitors - were present. These statistics set a new record, and testify to the growing interest that the show is generating among professionals directly involved in packaging creation and development: 20% more Marketing & Communication Managers, 22% more Designers, 5% more Packaging Development Managers. This year the show became even more international, with an increase in foreign visitors, in particular from the Americas (up 50% from Latin America, up 25 % from USA-Canada).

Flagship event and global showcase for trends

The only event dedicated to packaging creativity, Luxe Pack is incontestably the show that reveals the trends and is the ideal platform for launching new packaging.

Many new concepts or innovations also attracted attention this year: smart or connected packaging, new sensory effects, beauty packaging concepts featuring new gestures, materials associations, new personalisation techniques, etc.

What is once again notable is the real progress made in terms of sustainable development, with packaging manufacturers very often incorporating this new state of play from as early as the R&D phase.

A true benchmark has been established at Luxe Pack, with Luxe Pack in Green, and this year 2 prizes were awarded at the show in the presence of the members of the Luxe Pack in Green Jury as well as the Monaco Minister of State, His Excellency Michel Roger:

  • Prize for the best green packaging solution awarded to SGD for its Neo Infini glass, a premium transparent and brilliant glass, composed 90% of recycled materials.
  • Prize for the best corporate social responsibility approach awarded to Aptar Beauty + Home.

Content rich in information

Through its events programme, Luxe Pack placed the emphasis on the underlying trends on the packaging market: 3-D printing, decoration and finishing techniques, the digital revolution, etc. Chantal Thomass, guest of honour at the show, shared her passion for creativity in an exclusive interview with Sabine Durand, Editorial Director of Formes De Luxe magazine.

Luxe Pack once again provided the opportunity to launch officially a working group on connected objects in the luxury sector, in collaboration with the CNR FID (National Reference Centre for RFID solutions). A total of 1200 people came to the conferences – yet another record!

Luxe Formulation builds on the success of its first edition

A space entirely dedicated to formulation and full-service for perfumes-cosmetics was inaugurated last year: Luxe Formulation. Since managing the interaction between container and content is so essential, there is an evident complementarity between Luxe Formulation and Luxe Pack where innovations are concerned. As well as the specific programme of conferences for this universe and the dedicated activities, this constituted a true "show within the show", bringing together the full gamut of know-how and expertise in the field of formulation, and attracting the biggest French and international brands.

The figures speak for themselves: this year there were 10 times more visitors directly involved in formulation! The entire Principality found itself marching to the beat of Luxe Pack over these three intensive days. And it is the entire packaging industry that innovates and promotes its know-how worldwide via Luxe Pack Monaco! This observation becomes more pertinent year-on-year, and underpins the event's credentials as a genuine business platform for all packaging professionals.
