Kodak’s Stream Inkjet Technology not only delivers intense colour reproduction and one of the highest print resolutions available, it also works with food-compliant inks. Designed for digital four-colour printing on a broad range of uncoated and coated corrugated cardboard, the digital sheet-fed press is unique in that it offers both personalisation and speed on both short and large print runs of packaging and displays. The new press delivers superb quality at exceptional speeds of up to 200 metres per minute, and can handle sheets up to a maximum size of 1.3 x 2.1 metres.

Compared with flexo printing, Stream Inkjet Technology has the advantage in that it is a contactless form of printing – the grammage of the linerboard no longer matters or which corrugated profile is used. The quality of the printed image is always 1A since pressure is no longer exerted on the carrier medium, resulting in a uniformly beautiful image quality.

600 x 900 dpi – extremely precise
A further advantage is the high resolution of the printed image. The revolutionary digital press from Bobst is capable of printing image resolutions of 600 x 900 dpi (dots per inch) at a speed of 200 metres per minute. The dots are so small that they are perceived by the human eye as one colour. In future, packaging and displays will be characterised by a crystal-clear print image, guaranteeing increased attention at the point of sale.

Stereotype and plate making are no longer necessary; the print data is sent directly to the digital press and the order can get started right away – it cannot get any faster than that. The client sends us the print data; we produce the order the following day and deliver it directly.
