Model Recover has added a further element to the comprehensive range of services offered by the Model Group. It is aimed at expanding the materials flows that Model needs to ensure continuous paper production.

Who would have thought just two years ago that Model would have a hooklift truck capable of positioning roll-off and pressed waste containers? Today, our fleet includes our own hooklift vehicle, as well as a variety of collection containers.

Model’s trucks deliver more than 600,000 pallets of corrugated board in Switzerland every year, collect waste paper and board on their return journeys, and take it to the paper plants for recycling. This is how Recover closes the paper cycle.

Our objective is to procure and collect waste paper and combustible waste in the immediate vicinity of our paper plants at Niedergösgen and Weinfelden. In 2012, 6% of the waste paper we use was obtained from our customers. In 2013, this figure had already grown to 8%, and by the end of 2014 it will be at least 14%. The amount of fuel drawn from waste wood has been trebled over the past two years as a result of our own acquisitions. In the past, we sought external solutions for our recycling and waste disposal needs. Today, we collect waste and reusable materials throughout the Group and deliver them as raw materials to our own plants.
