As sustainability becomes a top priority for brands and consumers alike, the packaging industry is evolving to meet new environmental standards. One of the most impactful innovations is the use of Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) content in plastic packaging. This solution not only reduces waste but also supports a circular economy.

At Neville & More, we’re proud to be helping our customers transition to more sustainable packaging solutions without compromising on quality or performance.

What is PCR and why is it important?

Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) plastic is made from materials that have already been used and discarded by consumers, such as water bottles, food containers, and household packaging. These items are collected, cleaned, and reprocessed into new packaging materials, reducing the need for virgin plastic and lowering the overall environmental impact.

Using PCR helps:

  • Divert waste from landfill
  • Reduce carbon emissions
  • Conserve natural resources
  • Meet sustainability targets and consumer expectations

PCR or PIR: What's the difference?

While PCR comes from consumer-used materials, Post-Industrial Recycled (PIR) plastic is sourced from manufacturing waste, such as offcuts or rejected products during production. PIR is valuable in reducing industrial waste, but PCR plays a more significant role in closing the loop on plastic use and supporting true circularity.
