Recently, employees at PCA’s full-line plant in Newberry, South Carolina, filled care packages for victims of severe flooding in nearby Columbia, South Carolina. Because the flooding was only about 50 miles from the Newberry facility, many were reminded of how “close to home” this tragedy was.

PCA employees collected over 85 boxes of emergency supplies in just two days. Items collected included bottled water, deodorant, coolers, small towels, snacks, pet food, blankets, clothing and shoes. PCA chose the Palmetto State Armory, a local collection center, to help distribute the donations to those in need. These items were then given to local churches and other charitable organizations throughout the community.

According to the Production Manager at PCA’s Newberry plant: “We collected close to $2,000 worth of supplies. This disaster hit close to home, with several of our employees actually residing in the Columbia area. Fortunately, everyone was safe. I could not be prouder of our employees for the care they brought to this effort and the results of their determination to help those in need.”
