Future of packaging on display at UK's largest industry event

Packaging professionals from household names through to independent brands will come together to discover the latest technologies and solutions when Label&Print, Ecopack, Empack, and Contract Pack & Fulfilment return to Birmingham’s NEC on 26 & 27 February. Together with their co-located show, Packaging Innovations, the events offer industry professionals the chance to experience cutting-edge products for the first-time, learn from packaging pioneers, and network with likeminded individuals.

Label&Print, the UK’s dedicated event for labels, print, and finishing, will welcome industry leader Dantex, which will launch the latest innovations to its UV inkjet digital Pico range. The enhanced selection of in-line and off-line printing solutions provides a wider choice for clients based on quantity, speed, and budget. The presses are designed for fast and easy label production making them suitable for short or long job lengths. The solutions also create zero waste and offer fast turnaround times.

AM Labels will introduce its new Epson ColorWorks C6500 Colour Label Printer, designed to suit both retail and chemical industry applications and offer vibrant and resistant print qualities. The printer allows the company to further meet the needs of small to medium batch customers across many sectors, including food, beverage, manufacturing, and chemical.

The Label Makers will be using Label&Print to promote its latest developments, as well as its recent label produced for Diablesse Rum which captures the fine intricacies of the brand’s illustrations, including overlays of embossed matte-gold.

Presenting a more sustainable labelling alternative, Skanem UK will showcase its bespoke solution designed to facilitate recycling. Alongside its eco-friendly product, the company will display its SMART labels which allow interaction between consumers and brands through cloud-based software.

Domino Digital Printing Solutions will also join Label&Print. With an established reputation for the development and manufacture of digital ink jet printing technologies, the Digital Printing team will be on stand to discuss the product range, including the N610i full colour ink jet label press, recently showcased in a 20-minute production efficiency challenge.

Hybrid Software will launch its new Automated Artwork Generation portal to support automated workflows for label artwork. The new service utilises Cloudflow’s HTML front end which allows print customers to upload a master artwork and an XML sheet full of the variant artwork data. The Cloudflow will generate the variant artworks automatically, step and repeat the files, and send them straight to press for printing.

For those looking to discover the latest in green packaging, Ecopack will explore the future of sustainable solutions. Charpak will launch new products designed for the circular economy, following the launch of its rPET Twist-Loc® Tub at last year’s show.

Also joining Ecopack will be Sirane which will present its food packaging with specialised absorbent materials alongside oven-ready and microwave-ready cooking solutions for multiple applications. Its plastic-free packaging range, Earthpouch, will also be on display, which are compostable, sustainable, or recyclable.

Empack, the UK’s premier event for packing and filling technology, machinery, and equipment, will provide visitors with the perfect platform to improve the capacity, reliability, and efficiency of their product lines. Yorkshire Packaging Systems will debut its Pizza Capping Film solution which is OPRL approved and fully recyclable to LDPE level 4. The Ballore BFF shrink film is converted in-house through a perforation process and can be provided in any width.

Sollas Packaging Machinery will present its automatic overwrapping machines, designed to overwrap products, such as cartons, in heat-sealable film, paper, and eco-friendly materials. The machines can be used in a wide range of industries including food and confectionary, health and beauty, pharmaceutical and digital media.

Adpak will showcase its range of machinery and films including packaging technology for shrink and sleeve wrapping, as well as films for different environments, including transit and display packaging.

Those looking for outsourcing partners can visit the Contract Pack & Fulfilment show floor which will host expert suppliers from the British Contract Manufacturers and Packers Association (BCMPA). Visitors will be able to discover suppliers for new product development, blister packing, chemical blending, gift packing, or supply chain management. Exhibitors joining the show include BCMPA members Lemonpath, XPO Logistics, Fillcon, and Prolog Fulfilment.
