In conjunction with the Druck&Medien (Print & Media) Awards 2016, the rlc I packaging group was honored as the packaging printer of the year with the Paradowski Award 2016.

The jury praised the company's development as a leading packaging system supplier for the Beauty, Pharmaceutical, Food and Luxury goods industries and its commitment to continuously optimizing packaging solutions.

The twelfth presentation of the Druck&Medien Awards in Berlin honored the best printing and media industry companies for their expertise, processes, and people.

This year, the coveted award for Germany's best packaging printer went to the family-owned rlc I packaging group, which also received the award in the same category in 2005. According to the jury, one of the formulas for the company's success is that it continuously analyzes designs, technologies and processes to further improve packaging.

"We are delighted to receive this award! It confirms our employees' dedication to the solution approach and our ability to create market-convincing innovations," explains rlc I packaging group Managing Partner Stephan Bestehorn.

The eight rlc group plant sites continuously develop packaging solutions that are comprehensively designed and produced in the highest quality. The re-launched packaging for the WHITE NOW range from Unilever was submitted for the award. This packaging solution features a large PET window with a clear view of the premium toothpaste tube inside.

The exquisitely finished paperboard attracts attention at the POS. Compared to the original 100 percent PET solution, the updated range fulfills the requirements for efficient packing as well as for improved eco-sustainability. The rlc I packaging group exemplifies the close connection between packaging and brand identity with the new packaging design for the Swiss "Cailler" chocolate brand from Nestlé.

The company developed eight exclusively finished chocolate packs with Iriodin, hot foil embossing in brilliant gold and relief/blind embossing. The stylish case created for luxurious Vitris eyewear perfectly combining graphic design with structural performance is another example of the comprehensive rlc approach.

"From investing in the latest technologies and adapting megatrends for packaging, to sustainable, lean production as a company philosophy, we have set the highest standards for over 155 years and assume complete responsibility for packaging across our customers' entire supply chain," explains Stephan Bestehorn. Along with the award as packaging printer of the year, the rlc I packaging group received the German packaging award this year in the "product presentation" category.
