Under contract with a leading manufacturer of medical diagnostics, Rychiger has developed and produced a customer-specific filling and sealing machine. The revolutionary ID micro-typing system was designed for determining blood group and antibodies. The unique challenges: filling of the analytical gel, within a precise micro litre tolerance, into a hermetically sealed, easily peelable capillary tube.
Filling machinery had to be adapted to the specific needs of the client in order to ensure the end result was an effective solution. By learning what the client's need were and developing a detailed and comprehensive brief for the project, Rychiger was able to meet the requirements of the project completely and offer a unique, never before seen solution.

For a leading company specialized in blood group serology, Rychiger further developed a customer-specific machine for the dosing and sealing of racks. Precise micro filling and absolute hermetic sealing are just some examples of the firm's technological expertise.
The racks are delivered in bulk and transported by an oscillating conveyor. A single-track continuous in-feed conveyor brings the racks to the pick-and place system and synchronizes them into the main station. At the micro-filling station the individual capillary tubes are simultaneously filled with the analytical fluid – without spillage and in precise dosage.
At this point the valves can be calibrated at defined intervals according to operator specifications. Even with small amounts of 100 μl a tolerance of +/– 1% deviation can be maintained. An integrated CIP function makes it easier for quick product changes. The racks are then sealed with the cover film. Thanks to Rychiger’s unique «One-Stroke» technology the punching and sealing are performed in a single step. The racks are then fed from the clean room to the discharge conveyor where they are labelled and finally packed.
