Silgan Dispensing, a global leader in the design, development and distribution of highly engineered pumps and sprayers in the home, health and beauty markets, will be debuting two new products at ADF&PCD 2020: Sinfonia® Crème, a pump for prestige skincare and color cosmetics, and Aerohead® Plus, an addition to the company’s aerosol product portfolio that will be locally manufactured in Europe and available in PCR.

Sinfonia Crème is based on Silgan Dispensing’s most versatile pump, Sinfonia, and will feature a new extra-soft version for a more luxurious consumer experience and new 18-400 closures. These enhancements give Sinfonia Crème a softer feel and more versatility to meet the needs and expectations of the company’s skincare and color cosmetics customers.

“The addition of Sinfonia Crème to Silgan Dispensing’s expansive skincare portfolio delivers on our customers’ biggest demands: prestige, performance and personalization, said Sandy Gregory, Associate Marketing Director, Global Fragrance & EU Beauty. “The softer feel and wide variety of sizes, outputs, head styles and over caps all allow our customers to tailor the perfect solution for their needs and brand positioning.”

Aerohead Plus builds on Silgan Dispensing’s Aerohead value proposition, offering its European customers the same great performance and superior ergonomic experience with the added benefit of a locally produced option. Additionally, Aerohead Plus includes a PCR option to help brands further their sustainability initiatives.

“Offering a locally manufactured option of our Aerohead with a PCR option gives our European customers a whole new degree of advantages, said Jennifer Barnes, Product Line Manager, Home and Garden. “Between its smaller carbon footprint and use of recycled materials, Aerohead Plus is one of the best available aerosol solutions for brands to meet the sustainability demands being expressed by both consumers and regulators.”

Silgan Dispensing also is introducing its Sinfonia dispenser to its industry-leading global portfolio of dispensing systems available with PCR in the market. The addition of Sinfonia and Aerohead Plus, reflects the company’s continued growth and focus on sustainable solutions.

Why standardization is key to driving sustainability across the packaging industry

Silgan Dispensing is a member of Cetie, and several members of our team are involved with its various working groups, including one that focuses on screw necks or glass bottles: the Flaconnage Geometry Group. We recently talked with Juan Albi, project team leader for Silgan Dispensing’s beauty and personal care, and Sandy Gregory, director of fragrance marketing, to share about our company’s relationship with Cetie and how new standards are driving sustainability across the industry.

How has the pandemic impacted consumers' use and relationship with fragrances?

The impact scent can have on a mood and overall sense of wellbeing is nearly impossible to overstate. One fragrance can elicit feelings of coziness and comfort, while another can give a person a sense of luxury and distinction. Given the seemingly endless variations of fragrances and personal uses, it’s no surprise the fragrance market has seen such steady profitability in recent years – at least, prior to COVID-19.

Silgan acquires Albéa’s Dispensing Systems, Metal and Brazil businesses

With the acquisition of Albéa’s Global Dispensing Systems business, which includes its Metal (Covit Europe & US) and Brazil industrial clusters, Silgan Dispensing expands its range of lotion and fragrance pumps for the beauty, cosmetic, and fragrance markets, while also adding a market-leading portfolio of foaming and fragrance and beauty sampler/mini product solutions. Silgan also gains the experienced team of Albea employees previously focused on those product lines.
