SR Packaging's double-walled closure - A new concept for cap decoration

  • SR Packaging

Based in Taiwan, SR Packaging is well known as a provider of beauty and cosmetic packaging with local services in Japan, China, and North America, reaching all the way across to Europe. The latest breakthrough innovation to be revealed by SRP is a whole new concept that may change cap decoration from here after.

SRP has introduced a double walled closure comprised of PMMA acrylic. The closure was first unveiled for SR's cosmetic tube packaging to present a more upmarket outer cover steering well away from pre-conceived misconceptions of cheap shoddiness.

PMMA shares many of the same qualities as glass. Both are transparent and able to transmit light; both are hard; both can be coloured; but, whereas glass can be easily broken into a million splinters and shards, acrylic is a safe choice - shatter resistant and user friendly. Consumers feel safer by choosing acrylic packaging products, yet associate more brand value for the glass-like luxury look.

SRP's double walled closure can be further enhanced with injection moulding to produce a variety of shapes and styles. Metallizing or overspraying offers companies the opportunity to make the cap fit within existing line or match corporate branding with the inner layer used to decorative effect, enhancing the brand identity.

Recycled Pulp is now one of the sustainable materials to be used for SR Packaging's Concept Designs

Following a thorough evaluation from an engineering perspective, SR Packaging has added an alternative material option for makeup products — Recycled Pulp. The concept is based on reusing resources available instead of harvesting forest which is recognized as environmentally harmful and had led to an even worse situation.
