SRP's squeezable, special metallic coating: A new phase of packaging surface technology for rigid containers

  • SR Packaging

SR Packaging's brand new "squeezable metallic special coating" is a coating technology which is contradictory to the traditional packaging metallization process. The vacuum metallizing process is a commonly used packaging decoration for many different sects of rigid containers. However, the surface with vacuum metallizing cracks when the packaging suffers any deformation.

SR Packaging has developed a brand new packaging surface decoration technology for rigid containers comprised of less plastic or a thinner plastic layer - the "squeezable metallic special coating". Different to the metallic flat finish brought by the vacuum metallizing process, the "squeezable metallic special coating" provides a vivid light reflection on metallic coated objects. Its flexibility on coated objects extends the metallic glow across a complete aspect of visual angles.

The principal benefit of this new application is to give flexibility in the over-coating used for rigid containers comprising less plastic, enabling a metallic look without the consequence of the coating peeling or cracking should the packaging be deformed or squeezed out of shape, as the coating itself is flexible.

The special coating can be applied in a metallic matte or gloss finish to plastic packaging according to the result required and the application is now available for rigid packaging comprised of PET, PP, LDPE and HDPE.
