Lush is the first company to choose glass as a container material for its full line of colour cosmetic products, even for those that have almost exclusively been packaged in plastic in recent years, including eye shadow, eye liner, mascara, and lipstick. The company considers glass to be a more ecological solution thanks to several inherent properties, including how easily it can be sterilized and its high level of recyclability.
The starting point for the line was the very simple retooling of an existing concept. Using its 5ml dropper bottle as a simple inception point, Stölzle Flaconnage was able to adapt the neck to accept different applicators for four core products: eye shadow, eye liner, mascara, and lipstick.
The new Lush packaging, conceived and produced by STO, is a brilliant example of what can be achieved by thinking outside the box and focusing on innovation commencing with a standard container.
The STO bottle’s heavy base provides a quality look, emphasised by the printing carried out by STO’s decoration factory: a reversing out on white, allowing the colour of the contents to spell out brand details.
Emotions are used for the names across the range, the colours contributing to the brilliance of the look, providing a unique, stand-out cosmetic brand.
Stölzle Flaconnage is a member of the Stölzle Glass Group, headquarters in Austria, experts in both custom design and standard glass containers for Perfumery and Personal Care, and Prestige Spirits. The decoration factory offers state-of-the-art technology including hot foil blocking and multi-colour spraying.
