| Usage Visqueen Top Hat Units are used in conjunction with Visqueen damp proof membrane and Visqueen radon membranes to provide continuity of protection at service pipe penetrations. | |
| Storage and Handling Visqueen Top Hats should be stored under cover in their original packaging.
To aid installation, store in warm conditions (above 5°C) prior to use.
Care should be taken when handling the product in line with current manual handling regulations. | |
| Preparation Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and free from contamination such as dust or sand. Avoid areas of unsupported jointing. | |
| Installation Cut a circular hole in the Visqueen membrane as close as possible to the pipe. Bond the Visqueen Top Hat Unit to both the pipe and the membrane with VisqueenPro Double Sided Jointing Tape. Seal the top hat laps to the pipe and membrane with VisqueenPro Single Sided Tape. N.B. An alternative taping system may be specified.
Complete the installation by fixing the supplied jubilee clip around the top hat upstand. | |
| Usable temperature range it is recommended that Visqueen Top Hat Units and associated system components should not be installed below 5°C. | |
| Additional information Where protection to BS8485:2015 + A1:2019 or VOCs are required, use Visqueen Ultimate Top Hat Units.
