Visqueen DPC Joint Supports are factory manufactured lightweight stainless steel profiles for supporting Visqueen DPC cavity tray lap joints. The supports are manufactured as standard from stainless steel to BS EN 10088 grade 1.4301 (BS 1449 grade 304). See additional information section on page 2 regarding availability of other stainless steel grades. The bespoke supports are made to order using Visqueen drawing PFU-NC-660. The supports are also available as a pack of 10 units which can be hand bent on site to the required cavity tray profile. The pack of 10 units are suitable for cavity tray widths up to and including 500mm.

| Usage Visqueen DPC Joint Supports are designed for use beneath cavity tray lap joints in order to provide a solid substrate for joint formation and to ensure long term lap integrity.
Where and if required, the supports can also be used at specific locations below the cavity tray length to prevent localised sagging.
| Storage and Handling Visqueen DPC Joint Supports should be stored under cover in their original packaging.
Care should be taken when handling the product in line with current manual handling regulations.
Visqueen DPC Joint Supports are produced from sheared stainless steel plate which may present sharp edges/corners. Suitable personal protective equipment should be worn at all times during handling and installation.
| Preparation Ensure the Visqueen DPC Joint Support matches the required cavity tray profile. | |
| Installation Prior to the Visqueen cavity tray lap formation, position the Visqueen DPC Joint Support beneath the joint, either building into the inner leaf or in the case of a surface fixed cavity tray, securing to the inner leaf with Visqueen Zedex Mastic (if using the Visqueen Zedex Non-Combustible DPC system) or Visqueen 100mm Double Sided Butyl Tape (if using an alternative Visqueen DPC system), or by using stainless steel fixings appropriate for the substrate. The joint support will also rest on the masonry outer leaf.
Create the sealed Visqueen DPC cavity tray lap joint over the support following the procedure as described in the relevant DPC product datasheet.
| Usable temperature range Although there are no limitations to the usable temperature range for Visqueen DPC Joint Supports, it is recommended that the Visqueen products associated with this system component should not be installed below 5°C. | |
| Additional information Generally where stainless steel components are embedded in the outer leaf of a masonry façade, BS EN 10088 grade 1.4301 (BS 1449 grade 304) is the most appropriate choice and as such Visqueen DPC Joint Supports are manufactured from this grade as standard. However, in certain circumstances a more durable grade is often specified. In coastal environments where airborne salts are present, BS EN 10088 grade 1.4401 (BS 1449 grade 316) is often the preferred choice. The final decision of which stainless steel grade to select remains the responsibility of the project Structural Engineer. If a BS EN 10088 grade other than 1.4301 (BS 1449 grade 304) is required, please advise prior to requesting a quotation.
As standard, Visqueen DPC Joint Supports are supplied without fixing holes. If fixing holes are required, please advise prior to requesting a quotation.
