WaveGrip, manufacturer of innovative beverage multi-packing solutions, has seen significant growth in its applicator machine installations on the back of recent investment in its manufacturing capability in both the UK and USA and the global demand for more sustainable multi-packing solutions.

The number of applicators across Europe and the North America will more than double by the end of the year, with the growth being supported by WaveTec, the dedicated machine manufacturing and engineering support service, which combines all WaveGrip automation, engineering and global servicing capabilities.

By working with established automation operation Letica Corporation, part of WaveGrip’s parent company the RPC Group, WaveTec has proven invaluable in meeting the automation solution demands of beverage companies in North America.

WaveTec has also provided all WaveGrip customers with access to a network of technical support across both North America and Europe from two international WaveTec Centres – one in Rochester, MI, USA and another at the WaveGrip head office in Greenock, UK.

“We are delighted with the performance of both WaveGrip and WaveTec to date,” comments Aaron McIvor, Managing Director at WaveGrip. “Our custom engineering technologies take each project from inception to reality in-house and this experience is ensuring every WaveGrip customer is provided with the support they require for their multi-packing needs.”

WaveGrip’s customer base is growing rapidly as beverage customers see the opportunity for its multi-packing solutions to deliver substantial efficiency and environmental benefits. At less than 4g per six-pack carrier, WaveGrip is the lightest and most sustainable multi-packing solution — weighing 10% less than standard six-pack rings, 6x less than rigid plastic handles, and 25x less than traditional cardboard carriers.

“The need to reduce packaging and provide a sustainable multi-packing solution to customers is clear,” continues Aaron. “WaveGrip is 100% recyclable and as part of RPC bpi group, we recycle 85,000 metric tons of post-consumer polythene waste annually into second life products thus preventing them from ending up in landfill - the equivalent of recycling all the plastic waste from over 700,000 US citizens!”

Royal Docks step up packaged production for craft beer with WaveGrip

WaveGrip’s innovative multi-packing applicator and brand defining coloured carriers are helping Royal Docks Brewing Co. increase its packaged beer output. Having previously partnered with a canning company, Royal Docks switched to its own canning line in 2017. Recently, however, it has required a faster and less labour- intensive solution to keep pace with its ongoing growth. The G1, with speeds of up to 100 cans-per-minute (cpm) and ability to pack a full range of can sizes with minimal downtime was the perfect choice.
