Grupo Gondi and WestRock today announced that they have completed the formation of a joint venture combining their paper and packaging operations in Mexico. The combination was recently approved by Mexico’s Antitrust Authority, the Comisión Federal de Competencia Económica (COFECE), and the companies will begin operating in Mexico as a single entity immediately.

Coca-Cola bottler replaces 200,000 pounds of plastic a year with WestRock paper packaging solution

Liberty Coca-Cola Beverages and WestRock will collaborate to implement a paperboard carrier that replaces plastic rings for its multipack bottled beverages. Advancing sustainability efforts, WestRock’s PETCollar™ Shield Plus paper-based packaging will be used at Liberty’s Philadelphia production facility to package Coca-Cola’s top brands in multipacks.
