Shiseido, Givenchy, Godiva, Henkel and Unilever were among the many brands attending ADF&PCD Shanghai 2019.

The highly anticipated 2nd edition, which took place at The Convention & Exhibition Center of International Sourcing on 27 & 28 March 2019, enjoyed a 26% growth in visitors.

Paul Macdonald, Global Brand Director of the Easyfairs Packaging Portfolio, comments: “Growing any show by more than a quarter in one year is no mean feat. It not only highlights how hard the team worked to put on a fantastic show, but also reaffirms the need for an event like ours in the region.”

As part of ADF&PCD Shanghai, The Pentawards Conference returned with a line-up of globally renowned packaging designers and experts from international brands, drawing on personal experiences, sharing creative insights and unveiling some unique innovative design thinking.

With Marie Dalgar, Yuesai, Pechoin, Marubi and Suntory, just some of the names taking to the stage, it is no wonder the conference was hailed a success.

Rhonda Jiang, Editor-in-Chief of Package & Design Magazine, who also chaired the conference, commented: “ADF&PCD Shanghai 2019 and The Pentawards Conference was a great event. I met with visitors from leading cosmetics brands as well as some of the best creative design agencies. The Pentawards is highly respected in the Chinese market, as well as around the world, bringing award winning designers and brands to the show.”

Running alongside The Pentawards Conference was the ADF Conference, which was designed in collaboration with a series of industry experts to deliver high quality content to the show’s visitors.

L'Oréal, Beiersdorf and Kao were the headline acts, covering an array of subjects including plastic packaging, as well as exploring the latest market trends, challenges and opportunities.

In addition to the educational content on offer, ADF&PCD Shanghai also hosted more supplier innovation than ever before, with many using the show as the official launchpad for new products into the Chinese and global markets.

Hinterkopf unveiled its new digital printing machine – The D240.2; Foshan Anran Glass debuted its new perfume design; Toyo Aerosol Industry introduced THE DUAL, its new aerosol packaging system based on Bag-on-Valve technology; and Singapore Estes Engineering showcased its new high-pressure aerosol can leak tester, to name just a few.

Visitor, Camille Wu, R&D Deodorant Assistant Manager at Unilever, commented on the quality of exhibitors available to her at this year’s show: “There was a great variety of suppliers for perfume and aerosol products, which was exactly what I was looking for.”

Macdonald concludes: “The ADF&PCD Portfolio has been fully established in both Paris and New York for some time now, providing an invaluable platform for the European and North American markets. The success of our Shanghai show proves that the event is now equally important in Asia. It has all the hallmarks of a successful and growing show. We are straight into planning for 2020 and can’t wait to unveil our plans later in the year.”
