    Aptar Launches InvisiShield Active Packaging Solution for Pathogen Mitigation

    Aptar's InvisiShield solution is activated within sealed packages to safely and effectively release a specially formulated amount of an anti-pathogenic agent into the fresh cut produce’s packaging environment that is undetectable to the consumer and dissipates from the package within 24-48 hours of activation. This mechanism significantly reduces pathogens and reduces cross-contamination within the sealed package.

    Aptar’s new tethered closures have been designed to meet the requirements of the new European regulation called “Single-Use Plastic” (SUP), recently adopted by the European Parliament on March 27th, as well as the AB 319 California legislation in the USA. Both regulations have the goal of increasing the amount of bottles being collected and recycled, consequently reducing marine litter.

Developed using the company’s proprietary BAP® technology (Bonded Aluminum to Plastic), the new closure ensures the scoop does not end up at the bottom of the container and allows consumers to extract a precisely measured amount of product.
