Social responsibility
Thanks to the understanding of social responsibility, Arçelik A.Ş. works for 'sustainable development' in the countries of operation where it creates economic benefit through opportunities of employment, growth and added value as well as its pioneering activities in social and environmental issues since the day of its foundation. We develop and implement projects to improve social standards and eliminate the barriers in front of sustainable development.
Social Responsibility Program: Standing United for Education with Arçelik A.Ş
To reach desired development level across the country, the crucial condition is raising an effective and common awareness about education. Through education, it is possible to solve many social problems in advance and provide significant contributions to the country regarding resources utilization.
Knowing that individual development must be supported in the early stages of childhood, the Company started the “Standing United for Education with Arçelik A.Ş.” project in 2004. Conducted jointly with the Ministry of Education, this project targets primary school students. With this project, the Company aims to improve the education and development standards of 200 thousand children, who come from disadvantaged families and study at 300 regional primary boarding schools, as well as to ensure that these children become valuable members of society.
Focused on the personal development of students, the program consists of the following projects: “Our Rooms”, “They Were Children, Too”, “Support and Education for Teachers”, “Arçelik Education Scholarship” and “Voluntary Family Association”. Non-governmental organizations contributing to this program include The Vehbi Koç Foundation (VKV), Turkish Educational Volunteers Foundation (TEGV), The Mother, Children and Education Foundation (AÇEV) and Private Sector Volunteers Society (ÖSGD).

Thanks to its new vision, “Respects the Globe, Respected Globally', ARÇELİK A.Ş integrates its 'sustainability' approach to its main business operations. Main business goals determined in line with its new vision represent three aspects of sustainability in economic, environmental and social dimensions.
Targeting “to take part in solution” within the framework of sustainability approach, ARÇELİK A.Ş. maintains its efforts oriented towards climate change and protection of restricted natural resources.
