Excitement in the Atlas Packaging design hub as the new Zund G3 plotting table is installed, along with Artios CAD and Cape Pack

  • Atlas Packaging

Our experienced team of designers work closely with clients to establish product needs and requirements; using their exceptional understanding of the industry they are able to create bespoke specialist structural designs. The plotting table is used by our in-house structural design team to create high quality prototypes which are sent to clients to review, ensuring that the product is perfect before it is approved for full production.

The full order will then be completed in our on-site fully fitted production plant, which houses an array of the industry’s most advance modern machinery and specialist facilities.

This is the latest in a continuous programme of investment for the company, and the Zund G3 state of the art Swiss built machine was chosen for its quality, and ability to transform our output.

Working with the new Zund G3 will enable to us to produce exceptionally accurate samples for customers, making them even closer to the finished product. It will allow us to produce samples more efficiently with cutting rate of up to 1000mm per second, it will also give us the opportunity to produce larger samples and matrix folds, where required.

The team now use Artios software which enables them to render 2D diagrams into 3D prototypes, assisting with the structural design of the packaging. This can then be exported into an interactive PDF for the customer to review, giving them a great way to visualize how the final product will look. Artios is the global leader in structural packaging design software, now we hope to push our design skills even further and explore new avenues. Pallet programme Cape integrates with Artios, and this is used to allow us to provide the customer with our recommended layout, it also allows us to review our layout when producing the finished goods in production.

As part of the installation process the team have benefited from industry training from the Zund engineers, ensuring we are able to get the best results from our new machine.

Dave King, Structural Design Manager at Atlas Packaging is delighted with the new member of the team: “It is an incredible piece of machinery, propelling us forward with outstanding efficiency, zunderbar”
