    The BLUESKY ECOPACK designation identifies our most eco-friendly products. These products or materials are recyclable, renewable or re-usable.

    Aluminium

    Aluminium is a permanently available resource. It is 100% recyclable and endlessly reusable. The quality is not compromised when it is recycled.

    • Recyclability status: Widely recycled
    • Characteristics: Endlessly recyclable, widely recycled, re-usable, unbreakable

    PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate)

    PET bottles and jars are 100% recyclable and are widely recycled at all UK recycling facilities.

    • Recyclability status: Widely recycled
    • Characteristics: Recyclable, easily recycled, lightweight, shatterproof

    Glass

    Glass is an infinitely recyclable material. It will not lose its qualities when recycled and is currently widely recognised by consumers as one of the most recyclable materials.

    • Characteristics: Endlessly recyclable

    Post Consumer Regrind (PCR) - a sustainable solution

    PET is one of the easiest materials to recycle. PET PCR is even more environmentally friendly as it is manufactured from recycled plastic. PCR, is increasing in popularity as brands adopt a sustainable approach to packaging.

    With the focus on reducing plastic waste to landfill, PCR not only makes use of recycled plastic, but it can be recycled again and re-manufactured into a fresh batch of PCR packaging. Part of a circular economy, PCR offers genuine sustainability. Your PET packaging can be made in a variety of PCR strengths. 5-10% PCR can be added to PET bottles and jars with little to no impact on optical clarity. 100% PCR is more suitable for opaque packaging or colouring and responds well to decoration.

    ISO14001
    BLUESKY operates in accordance with an Environmental Management System and is working towards ISO14001 accreditation by February 2022.

    Packaging and recycling
    BLUESKY is committed to minimising the amount of waste sent to landfill. All of our cardboard packaging and pallet wrap is baled and recycled. We also have a comprehensive recycling plan in place for all office waste, recycling plastic, paper and cardboard, cans and mixed materials.

    Our Employees
    BLUESKY employees make every effort within their sphere of control to minimise the effect of our daily operations on the environment. Examples include:

    • Turning off lights when not required.
    • Turning down heating levels.
    • Planning journeys to minimise the environmental impact i.e., fuel consumption and encouraging the use of alternative means of transport and car sharing as appropriate.
    • Co-operating with any recycling systems for office waste, that are introduced.

    BlueSky can offer the brand new mono-polymer 24/410 disc top from Aptar, the latest addition to Aptar’s Future family. This lockable disc top is 100% PE and suitable for PE and PET bottles, ensuring a fully recyclable pack. It’s 100% recyclable, easy to use, showerproof, has a premium aesthetic—and it’s been designed with the environment in mind! It has an on/off locking system making it ideal for E-commerce. There is a visible on/off ring that creates a double-click sound (no fixture unscrewing; no actuator opening; no breakage or disassembly).
