    Debenhams

Debenhams plc is a British multinational retailer operating under a department store format in the United Kingdom and Ireland with franchise stores in other countries.

Debenhams is an international retailer with products available either in store or online across the globe. Total sales in the most recent financial year (to 3 September 2016) were £2.9 billion.

Tracing its history back to 1778, Debenhams is headquartered in the UK and owns 165 stores in the UK, 11 in the Republic of Ireland and 6 Magasin Du Nord stores in Denmark. There are a further 68 franchise stores operating in 24 countries. Debenhams products are also available online in over 60 countries.

Debenhams gives its customers around the world a wide range of brands and product lines in womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, health and beauty, lingerie, accessories, gifts and home and furniture. Half of everything we sell is exclusive to Debenhams, including Designers at Debenhams which is a range of more than 20 diffusion brands from some of the UK’s leading fashion designers including Jasper Conran, Julien Macdonald, Ben de Lisi, Matthew Williamson, Jonathan Saunders and Jenny Packham. Our own brands are complemented by some of the world’s best known international brands including Chanel, Estee Lauder, Levi’s, Le Creuset and Nike as well as concession brands including Warehouse, Coast and Oasis.

As a retail business, Debenhams’ activities can impact the lives of millions of people: our customers, our employees, the communities in which we operate, those who work in our supply chain and their own communities. We have a responsibility to all these people and to our planet to try to have a positive impact upon them and to take their needs into account when we make decisions about the business.

We believe the best way to live up to these responsibilities is to embed them into our everyday working practices. We do not therefore have a corporate responsibility or sustainability department. Instead, accountability and responsibility rests with those who best understand how and why we can make a difference as we execute the four pillars of our strategy to build a leading international, multi-channel brand.
