In just 10 years since its creation, MR Cartonnage Numérique has ceaselessly invested its time and resources, winning over brands with innovative capabilities that make it stand out. Its visionary approach has allowed Jonathan Mihy to make the right decisions at the right time, culminating with integrating Groupe Diam, which has led to significant synergies. Now, the company has a new name – it will now be known simply as MR. It is structuring its offer throughout the packaging value chain and implementing a dynamic new image.

From the outset when he created his industrial modeling workshop, Jonathan Mihy challenged offset printers by betting on digital. The company went from strength to strength, becoming the leading French digital cardboard supplier, creating prototypes and large-scale small series. MR Cartonnage Numérique then structured its offer around three different activities for three markets that are both distinct and complementary.

MR, the hub for digital packaging

Today, MR is positioned as a strategic player in the packaging value chain. Based on a new setup for its factory and the professionalism of its teams, MR has three independent yet complementary business units.

MR Artworks is an independent creative studio. It is dedicated to finalizing and optimizing artworks (amendments, tests, photo editing…), respecting the brand’s brief and chart, and extends to reallife tests. In this way, MR Artworks combines industrial experience, perfect knowledge of its machinery and an unrivaled recommendations. Its teams accompany the customer in the graphic interpretation of their designs and in building perfect artworks. Thanks to its perfect knowledge of technical specifications, MR Artworks brings its expertise to the table when it comes to rolling out new formats and references within an existing line. This approach guarantees high-quality production and no bad surprises.

MR Mock-up Lab acts as an expert in industrial mock-ups. It creates folding boxes or coffrets, unique pieces (prototypes) and very small series in small and large formats for the needs of brands’ marketing needs. Flexible and meticulous, this division plays a key role in new product development. It allows brands to test a design, a volume or a shape in industrial conditions in order to start development phase.

MR Factory produces folding boxes in small and medium runs, allowing multiple references and with no minimum quantities. Digital printing offers the best response to growing demand for limited production runs. MR is pushing the industrial boundaries of this to offer unbeatable time-to-market and stands out for its level of technical recommendations. MR Factory is honing its expertise in order to answer specific requests like personalization of color in makeup cases, multiplying its orders for multi-references productions and for promotional series. In addition, the choice of digital printing also allows real-time production, lean supply chain and improved sustainability credentials.

    One week and counting

Thanks to its new industrial scale, MR stands out for its commercial offer called «One Week Project.» With this concept, MR is commited to delivering certain projects within seven days, from final printing proof to delivery. This challenge is a concrete response to brands’ evergrowing demands for limited editions, capsule collections, dynamic launches, promotional campaigns and the creation of new references, for example.

2019 is a transition year for MR. The structuring of its offer reveals the forward-thinking mindset of its teams. Multiple investments, a new organization of workflows and processes, the optimization of sourcing and new sustainability commitments are bringing the company into the new industrial area.
