The DS Smith marketing department organises a tombola at the Fulda site on an almost annual basis in order to raise money for good causes. And, as always, the around 300 employees have been actively involved and enthusiastically bought tickets. This allowed 1,464 euros to be raised.

"We have decided to donate the money from this campaign to the "Kleine Helden" society, which helps children and young people in our region who are suffering from life-shortening illnesses," says Rainer Fugmann, Plant Sales Manager at the DS Smith site in Fulda. "These children, their parents and siblings require an unbelievable amount of energy. It is nice to know that there are people who are actively involved and help in these situations. We are very happy that we have been able to make a contribution towards the work of "Kleine Helden"."

The children and young people's hospice helps the affected families where help is needed. For example, the helpers relieve the families in their everyday lives, provide offers of assistance, deal with the psychosocial support of the families and with grief counselling and terminal care. For the affected children and young people, as well as their siblings, once a month there is an afternoon with a group leisure activity: with camel rides or at the dolphinarium in Nuremberg the children can, for a moment, be carefree and happy and forget all their troubles and worries. The service operates across regions and is free.
