Gelpack, high performance packaging. Films, bags, liners, covers and sacks

Gelpack Excelsior Limited was created in 1988 through the merger of Excelsior Plastics and Gelpack Industrial. However, polyethylene extrusion at the Hereford site dates back to 1962 with bag production commencing in 1972.

In the early nineties, there were acquisitions of Optiplas Ltd and PLIP Ltd which were renamed Gelpack Recycling Ltd. These companies were merged in 2000 to become Gelpack Industrial Limited.

The acquisition of Gelplas in 2004, which was merged into the organisation, created one of the largest privately owned polyethylene flexible packaging manufacturers in the U.K.

Today annual capacity exceeds 30,000 tonnes. The Gelpack organisations primary focus is in the development and production of high performance films, bags, liners and sacks for a range of industrial sectors.
