    Graindorge

    Graindorge

Established by Louis Graindorge, in 1928, engaged in the surface treatment of high quality plastic products, specializing in the electroplating of plastic parts. Ability to achieve many different finishes - chrome, white bronze, gun-metal, gold, matte or high gloss.

Process for ABS or other polymers

    Etching

The goal is to create a rough surface to allow the subsequent deposit of metal.

    Neutralisation

The goal is to perfectly clean the parts.

    Catalyse

Deposit of a stable colloïdal palladium, which after activation will catalyse the reduction of electroless nickel.

    Electroless Nickel

The parts are now conductive for the electrolytical process.

    Pre-copper

This coat is to strengthen the conductivity.

    Acid-copper

First electrolytical step, high gloss coat, basis of the plating.

    Nickel

Protect the copper layer; this layer can be brilliant or velvet.

    Finish

It is the final coat to protect the nickel and obtain the final finish of the part: chrome, white bronze, gold, gun metal.

    Process on metal parts

In addition to plastic, we also plate metals such as steel, brass, zinc alloy.

    Cleaning

The goal is to clean the part.

    Alcalin-copper

Very important layer for the Zinc-Alloy parts, to protect them.

The following steps are the same as the P.O.P process.

After plating, all the products are 100% inspected according to the quality limits established by the customer.

Robots play a key role in the production line at Graindorge.

The parts are carefully put on racks, hanged and transported to the next stage of the electroplating line. Computerised planning guarantees the highest level of quality.

We have continuously rationalised and optimised the production processes to ensure that our line is as efficient as possible and we can deliver high volume with short lead times.
