Over the last year Holfeld Plastics has been developing a soft fruit punnet range that now competes with and challenges the largest packaging manufacturers in Northern Europe, the UK and Ireland.

To announce this range Holfeld has published a buyer’s guide illustrating the entire range with full data details.

The portfolio of soft fruit packaging comprises 8 distinct ranges in multiple depths.

Frank Coleman, Site Director & Head of Sales at Holfeld commented, ‘We’re now recognised as the growing force in soft fruit packaging amongst our customers and our competitors . We can now offer one of the broadest ranges of packaging for the soft fruit sector challenging some of the largest suppliers – Fruit Logistica offers the opportunity to present our range as well as our materials capabilities to visitors.’

Holfeld also have a comprehensive range of salad trays, tomato punnets and mushroom punnets.

Some remarkable materials technology has been coming out of Holfeld and these will also be showcased at Fruit Logistica. Not the least the development of r-PETeCO , a long awaited universal packaging material for a number of applications in the fresh produce, dairy, bakery, protein markets with wider use in the airline catering, games and perfumery markets. rPETeCO is a lightweight material with a striking shelf appeal and non- plastic presentation blended with at least 85% food grade post-consumer PET recyclate. The material is ideally suited to the organic industry looking for a natural, textured feel and appearance enhancing a brand owner’s environmental credentials,. The material is super-cleaned in Holfeld’s own plant for safe food use.

Hydrozorb (H-PET) is a new packaging material perfectly designed to reduce surface tension and capture condensation in pre-packed produce such as mushrooms offering improved shelf life over standard r-PET.

The lightweight, low carbon material with organic and inorganic fillers is 100% recyclable in the waste stream – a strategically blended combination of r-PET with organic and inorganic fillers.
