NEW ICMAD Webinar: Selling Cosmetics in the Czech Republic and Poland.

The Czech Republic is a member of the European Union and is considered a “high income economy” with a stable government. Its cosmetic market is strongly influenced by foreign brands, whose market share has increased markedly especially during the 1990s.

Purchasing power among Czech consumers has risen steadily in the past decade, while still below that of Western Europe. As incomes rise, Czechs are becoming increasingly fashion and health conscious, demanding higher quality, more sophisticated skin care products and cosmetics.

“Natural” and organic ingredients are becoming more popular in this market, though still relatively small. Good personal grooming has become an integral part of daily lives. Czechs use a variety of cosmetic product brands and mix high-end cosmetics with lower price goods.

The Polish cosmetic market is one of the most dynamic developing markets in Europe. While both domestic and international major corporations compete fiercely in this market, about 50% of body and face-care product sales go to local Polish brands.

With a population of 40 million, key competitive factors are price, quality and brand recognition. Packaging and advertising have become increasingly important. It is worth noting that American cosmetic icons Max Factor and Helena Rubinstein were born in Poland and emigrated to the U.S.

This 60-minute webinar is for brand owners, distributors and manufacturers: anyone in the beauty industry who would like more information about this steadily growing market.

Topics to be covered include:

business conditions in the Czech Republic and Poland, the cosmetic market, distribution channels and pricing and regulations and registration.
