The bottle that we’ve dubbed the “100% Sicily” wine bottle is now even more … well, Sicilian!

We’ve often shared details about this circular economy success out of Italy. The “100% Sicily” bottle is produced with recycled glass collected from the island of Sicily along with ingredients coming from the island. It’s manufactured by our Marsala plant in the region and it’s used by local wine producers there. You can see why we call it “100% Sicily”!

The wine bottle has received a new mark that reinforces its Sicilian heritage. It now features an embossing at the bottom representing the shape of the island of Sicily.

We recently presented the updated version of the bottle at Vinitaly, Italy’s most popular wine fair. Vinitaly gave us the perfect opportunity to show wine makers how glass is the perfect packaging material to support a low-waste, circular economy, and the ideal material to support local wine makers who cherish the region’s strong heritage in premium wines.
