Plain adapters can result in fluid collecting below the cap when the bottle is tilted or inverted during transport or handling.  This resulting in drips down the bottle neck and thread – which can in turn impair the proper function of Child Resistant closures.  The securely closing septum of the SealSafe ® adapter means that the bottle is in a virtually closed condition, even with the cap removed.  The sole access is provided by simply drawing a dose by oral syringe.  This serves to limit spill, waste, contamination, child access, and potential accidental overdose.

The SealSafe ® adapter also provides benefit over dispensing cup, and teaspoon dosing methods.  Cups may have very low contrast between markings and the cup; and while there are options for this, cups provide no protection against contamination, spill, etc.  Teaspoon dosing can give a 10% to 40% variation from a target 5ml (source http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed), whereas Origin oral syringes are accurate within 0.5% of the marked measure on the syringe.
