Oud Essentials: Changing the face of skincare
Oud Essentials by The Real Oud Company was born of an idea.
That idea was to harness the potential of one of the most remarkable substances on the planet – a substance known as Oud, and often referred to as ‘liquid gold’ – and incorporate it into the ever-burgeoning global skincare market.
Precious, rare, incomparably complex, the resinous heartwood of the Aquilaria tree (known as agarwood or Oud) has been revered by countless cultures, civilizations and religions for thousands of years. An ingredient of choice for both the ancient and modern worlds of perfumery, Oud possesses both mental and physical health-giving properties that the scientific community is only now beginning to understand and appreciate.
These properties are now set to change the face of the skincare industry, with a new range of products that represent the perfect marriage between the old and the new; the ancient and the modern; tradition and technology.
With formulations put together by some of the world’s leading experts in the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries, Oud Essentials, unlike the plethora of other companies currently engaged in a market that runs to billions of US dollars per annum, will not be making any outrageous claims, other than to pronounce that our ingredients will be of the highest quality – sustainably sourced in their natural form – and ready to play their part in the symphony conducted by real, pure, Oud.
Oud Essentials won’t be promising any miracle cures either; nor any quick fixes or ‘instant’ results. While some products will have an immediate effect, long term benefits, as with anything that is ultimately worthwhile, will take time and application.
At the heart of the Oud Essentials skincare range, as well as its essential oils and ancillary skincare products, will be the company’s proprietary ingredient – OudActive+™ – a super-refined, and 100% pure, natural ingredient that takes even the mystical substance that is Oud to a different level. All the Oud used in the Oud Essentials range of products has been certified by CITES (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora).
