You’ve told us that you want your beer to arrive at your customer in the same first class condition as it was when it left the brewery. What you don’t want is beer all over the floor…all for the sake of a cheap bung!

Our shives and keystones are rigorously tested to strict performance criteria in order to reduce the risk of blow outs and leakers; no mean feat when you consider the variation in cask and keg types. A continuous development programme enables the supply of the most innovative, high quality closures and at the best value too. We’ve a good chance of matching you up with the most ideal closure whether you use wood, stainless steel, aluminium or plastic containers. We’ve a wide range of products for both craft and volume brewer alike….our Technical Sales Team will guide you through the range.

Wood Shives
more commonly compressed as this allows the bung to swell on contact with the liquid providing a tight seal. Sizes range between 2” and 2.1/2” with the most popular being 2.1/16” diameter. Turned shives are also available in the same size range.

Plastic Shives
a wide range includes ribbed shives, long tailed shives and the banded shive. The banded shive comes in 3 sizes, each tailored to a specific range of cask types or to the method of application. The banded shive is popular for high volume users where application and removal has been automated

Wood Keystones
available in 2 sizes: No.1 and No.2 manufactured in limewood

Plastic Keystones
No.1 and No.2 size variants available. Thermoplastic materials are used for those that apply the keystone into a hot cask and fill quickly thereafter. A lower cost LDPE variant is available, strictly for those who fill cold casks.

Spiles, Corks & Cask Sundry Items
Hard Spiles in wood or plastic and soft `porous’ spiles in cane allow the publication to vent, dispense and manage beer quality through to the last drop inside the container.

Clip Corks can be used to plug the keystone hole after dispense, preventing any residuals in the cask from spilling when the container is collected
