Small is beautiful for new closure

    • RPC Astrapak

A new 19mm tube closure from RPC Zeller Plastik Zell is the first standard push-on flip-top hinge tube closure (HTC) of such a small size.

Aimed at cosmetic and pharmaceutical products, the new-size polypropylene closure extends RPC Zeller’s existing Supersoft range with a solution that offers both aesthetic and consumer-convenience benefits.

The 1.2g closure is pushed onto the shoulder of tubes and can be oriented towards the printing for added decorative possibilities. In addition, its outer dimensions are in line with the tube diameter.

A glossy surface finish helps to create on-shelf appeal and this can be further enhanced by the availability of high-end decoration such as hot foiling around the entire cap, made possible by its hidden injection point. It can be specified with either a 1.5mm or 3mm orifice.

For end-users the closure offers easy opening and closing with one hand. Equally important, because it is a flip top the cap remains on the container and cannot be lost, offering a major advantage over the more commonly-used simple screw-closures.

Typical applications include trial, airline and hotel packs and products such as lip balms, creams and lotions.

Where maximum branding and shelf life meet like never before

SuperLock is by far one the most exciting innovations to be added to RPC Astrapak's growing range of market leading products and presents a very low Oxygen Transmission Rate (OTR). Allowing for both hot and cold content filling, the product is virtually limitless in its applications offering ambient temperature shelf life to a broad range of food products with a long shelf life. The secret to this advanced shelf preservation is the combination of an oxygen barrier on all surfaces with a membrane seal, offering a powerful sealable container.
