    Scandolara

    Scandolara

Since 1919 the Scandolara Group has worked towards consolidating its leadership in the field of tube production for packaging cosmetics, oral care, pharmaceutical and food products.

The history of the Scandolara Group began in 1919 at Tradate (VA), from an idea by Donnino Scandolara who was the first in Italy to produce deformable tin tubes for the pharmaceutical industry. For over ninety years the company has been guided by the Scandolara-Gussoni family. To doctor and hygienist Cesare Gussoni goes the credit for having turned the family business into an international industrial concern, starting from the seventies, without losing anything in flexibility, propositive drive and distinction. Today the succession is guaranteed by the presence in the company, in the role of CEO, of Dottore Fabio Amilcare Gussoni.

Since 1919, the Scandolara Group has worked to consolidate its leading position in the production of tubes for packaging cosmetics, oral care-, pharma and food products. Today it is one of the few European industrial groups capable of offering all three types of tubes - in aluminium, plastic, laminate - that can be customised, covering a broad variety of materials, processes, nozzles and capsules, finishes and print technologies.

The group has gained the faith of a high-ranking European and non-European customer base, able as it is to count on the expertise and service capabilities to meet the needs of a changing market, this thanks to an organization capable of combining R&D, operational flexibility and logistical efficiency.

Engaged in a comprehensive strategic plan, in recent years the Scandolara Group has also aimed at bolstering its position in the more select market segments, starting up a project of internationalisation.

Summing up the most recent and significant stages:
    • In 1999, Scandolara bought a stake of Tusa S.A. (Vevey, Switzerland), specializing in the production of aluminum and laminate tubes for the pharma sector, completing the acquisition in 2008.
    • In 2006 they bought up the Russian company NPORIM (today RIM Scandolara), focused on the production of polyethylene pipes for the local cosmetics industry.
    • In 2007 they set up Scandolara Tub-Est in Levice (SK), part of the Group’s Laminate Business Unit, immediately fitted out with the typical production processes of the segment (flexography+screenprinting), with hot print and cold foil decoration and tube assembly. The company’s objective: maximize the production philosophy of just-in-time in oral care.

To grow in prestige and turnover, to number among its customers the big names of the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and food sectors, and not stop there, despite the results achieved, but to look at the successes of today as a privileged tool for tackling the markets of tomorrow. With over 700 million tubes produced annually, the Scandolara Group occupies a lead position in the European sector ranking. The most recent proposals of the Scandolara Group, as well as a sophisticated technological capacity, bear witness to a great attention to emerging models of consumption.
