Stölzle Flaconnage has supplied Neal’s Yard Remedies with a cobalt blue, 30ml cylindrical glass bottle. NYR wished to upgrade the packaging for serums, elixirs and premium treatment products. The new bottle, called Anna and designed in collaboration with NYR, has joined the STO standard range of flint glass bottles for the perfumery and personal care industry.

"The new bottle needed to be tall, elegant and simple in shape with clean lines to convey the style used across the rest of the brand, whilst also bringing the appearance up to date from its apothecary style roots," said an NYR Packaging Technologist. "Cobalt blue glass was felt to be representative and iconic to the Neal’s Yard Remedies brand. A screw neck was desired so the pack can be easily manufactured and assembled at the NYR Dorset ecological factory, and also to enable the availability of a variety of standard size closure/dispensing options for future alternative product uses such as fragrance. A pump in satin anodised aluminium sheathing from Valois/Aptar was chosen for a premium appearance and availability in a number of dispensing options. The bottle was tooled to work aesthetically with the pump and sympathetically with the existing branding. A flat shoulder was the preference so the fit of the screw-on pump appears consistently and aesthetically pleasing."

The first new NYR product to launch in the STO Anna bottle moulded in cobalt blue is Beauty Sleep Concentrate. Existing NYR serums are to be repackaged in the same format.
